Prior to Registration Check-in
COSTUME CHECK: Before you can obtain your competitor package, you will need to have all of your costumes checked and approved as being in compliance with USA Dance Dancesport rules. Please bring all of your costumes with you to the registration area (outside the ballroom, 2nd floor of the Galt House East).
Begin at the costume check station. Once you are approved, you will receive a pass to present at the registration counter.
If you have any last questions regarding the costuming rules, please see USA Dance DanceSport Rulebook 2007-08, Rule 3.10 and/or contact Ray Kaufman with specific questions via email: ds-rules@usadance.org.
CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITORS (JR II, YOUTH, ADULT, SR I AND SR II INTERNATIONAL EVENTS AND ADULT SMOOTH AND ADULT RHYTHM EVENTS): If you have not yet provided your proof of citizenship/residency documentation to Ava Kaye, please see her at scruntineer's desk (front table near MC) in the ballroom before you come to competitor check-in. (This will work with no problem if you arrive on Thursday. If you arrive on or after Friday, please come to competitor check-in for an escort into the ballroom.)
Registration Check-in
Both members of each couple should be present for check-in.
Each competitor under 18 years old should have a parent or guardian accompany you to check-in unless you have already signed and submitted (a) your disclosure statement and, (b) for minors competing in Adult Championship event competitors, the required ISDF anti-doping and regulations agreement form.
Before you receive your packet, we will:
(1) CHECK I.D.s:
All competitors must show their USA Dance membership card.
All adults should (adult champ competitors must) also show a photo I.D.
(2) CHECK MEMBERSHIP to be sure your membership is an athlete membership of the correct age category and active through at least August 2007.
If you have recently renewed, please bring your receipt. We will have an up-to-date membership roster on hand. If you cannot prove your membership is active, you will be required to complete a membership application and pay the membership fee by check, money order or cash.
(3) OBTAIN SIGNATURES ON PAPERWORK:
(a) All competitors must sign a disclosure statement. Some of you have already signed and returned these forms; thank you. If you are a minor, your parent/guardian will also have to sign. If you plan to fax or email me your signed form before the comp, great, but do so no later than noon Wed, Aug 1.
(b) All Adult Championship event competitors must sign an IDSF anti-doping and regulations agreement form when you check in. If you are a minor competing in an adult championship event, your parent/guardian will also have to sign. The IDSF consent form regarding anti-doping can be downloaded from the IDSF website if you want to sign and bring with you to the competition. Go to www.idsf.net (see Anti-doping Download Documents: IDSF Form of Consent for Athletes 2007).
(4) COLLECT ANY UNPAID COMPETITOR FEES: Most of you paid by the July 18th deadline. Thank you. If not, a late charge of $50/person has been added to your account as I advised in my email of July 15th. If you have not paid your competitor fees in full, you will need to pay your full balance either by check, money order or cash. We will not be able to accept credit card or debit card payments at the competition. (Pay online immediately if this is your preference.)
Once we have taken care of these items, we will issue you your competitor packet.
COMPETITOR CHECK-IN HOURS:
Competitor check in will be open:
THURSDAY, AUGUST 2,
2:00 pm through 6:00 p.m. (Louisville is on Eastern Daylight Time) and
7:00 pm through 10:00 p.m.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 3 beginning at 6:45 a.m. and
SATURDAY, AUGUST 4, beginning at 6:45 a.m.
Please check in at your earliest possible opportunity.
Also, once you obtain your packet, please check the heat sheet enclosed to assure your event entries are correct. If you find an error, please submit to the registrar immediately on an Event Add/Drop request form.
We on the Louisville Host Committee and members of the Greater Louisville USA Dance Chapter look forward to hosting you in our town. We hope you have a safe and trouble-free journey to Louisville and a fun time while you are here.
Be sure to check out the six dance workshops (2 each day) by our world-class judges (only $10/person/class; tickets available at comp) and social dances each day (no extra fee for competitors or spectators).
By the way, great news for any of you driving in from the West. The Interstate 64 closure in downtown Louisville ended (early) 7/29/07. You will not have to take any detours or do any creative navigating!
See you in a few days!
